New hen! & Putting the chickens to work

I got a new hen last week! Her name is Sucia and she came to me from a friend and fellow blogger Gwen (Saturdays with Maggy). She is a laying hen and a great addition to the flock! It is so nice to have a tame (not feral) hen in the mix. Plus she gets along well with my sweety Black Dynamite.

I like having a hen I can hold

Today after spending some time in the run this week I let Sucia and Black Dynamite help with the yard work. I remember reading an article somewhere (I can't remember where) about making your chickens work for you. So since we pulled an area of the personal caretaker gardener, we let them help us out.

There they are working! 

I am enjoying having a tame chicken! :)

Once I wanted to be a costume designer

This video does a better job of explaining why I loved working with costumes in High School than I could ever do. Also I learned to love shoes going through stock. Costume Crew For Ever!
